Notes for Your Stay

Please contact us with questions or for assistance with making your reservation.

Reservation Deposit
A deposit for the first night’s stay is required for all reservations. Reservations for five or more rooms are considered a group reservation and require completion of a group agreement as well as a refundable group deposit. Please email for assistance.

The following information is appreciated in order to enhance your experience:
  • Names: Please provide the names of both guests in your guest room.
  • Allergies: We are able to accommodate a range of dietary restrictions and preferences with advance notice.
  • Special Occasions: Please let us know if you are celebrating a special occasion during your stay.

Room Reservations
We are a small Inn and cancellations significantly impact our business; therefore we follow a strict cancellation and change policy:

  • Cancellations and changes made at least 31 days in advance of arrival will be charged a $75 fee per room.
  • Cancellations made within 30 days will be charged the full value of the reservation. A date change within 30 days of the reservation is considered a cancellation. We are not able to make exceptions, but you are welcome to send someone else in your place.
  • Shortening a stay within 30 days is considered a cancellation for those nights.
  • Reservations for group stays with five or more rooms have a different cancellation policy. Please contact us for details.
  • COVID-19 related reservation adjustments: Reservations impacted by a COVID-19 exposure or travel ban may be rescheduled for a future stay. We will apply the value of the room deposit, less a $75 change fee, to a gift certificate valid for a future stay.

We highly recommend purchasing trip insurance to guard against unexpected changes in your travel plans.

Reserved Experiences
Non-room reservations including vineyard tours, dinners, wine tastings and massage are charged at the time of scheduling. Cancellations for all experiences require 7 days advance notice for a full refund. Cancellations within 7 days will not be refunded but you are welcome to transfer your reservation to another guest.

Due to our rural setting and open spaces, our area has been fortunate to avoid the worst of the current health crisis. To prepare for your stay, we’ve adjusted certain elements of your visit while ensuring you will continue to receive our customary warm, attentive service. As part of our ongoing safety procedures, we perform ongoing surveillance testing among our Inn staff. As another precaution we have partnered with Enviral Tech since 2020 to implement periodic surface testing scans to confirm our spaces are safe for our guests and our team. Reach out to us by telephone or email and we will be happy to answer any questions about our current practices.

Visit Responsibly

We ask these commitments from our guests:

  • If you have recently been exposed to COVID-19 or have symptoms of COVID-19 (including a fever, cough or shortness of breath), please help us keep everyone safe by rescheduling your visit.
  • Please wash hands frequently and follow physical distancing guidelines.

Guidance in response to COVID-19 is evolving as we learn more about the virus and ways to keep our guests and team safe. We will update our standards and policies as necessary as we receive new guidance from the CDC, Oregon Health Authority, American Hotel & Lodging Association, and local and state government requirements.

We endorse industry best practices promoted by the World Travel & Tourism Council, Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association, and the American Hotel & Lodging Association.

Reservations for five or more rooms are considered a group reservation and require completion of a group agreement as well as a refundable group deposit. We regret we are unable to accommodate group reservations between July and October. Please contact us to discuss options for hosting your group.

The Inn is available for full buyouts throughout the year. Please email for assistance.

Additional Guests
A limited number of suites allow space for a rollaway bed for a maximum of three guests per room. Rollaways may be accommodated in Rooms One, Six, Seven, and Nine.

Rooms are guaranteed by 3:00 pm on the day of arrival.  Guests may check in between 3:00pm and 5:00pm daily. If you believe you will arrive after 5:00 pm we ask that you please call the Inn 24 hours in advance and we will arrange for your late check-in packet to be on the front desk upon your arrival. We do not have 24-hour reception at the front desk.

Check out
Rooms must be vacated by 11:00 am on the day of check-out as we need to prepare the rooms for arriving guests.

Our front desk is open between 8:00am and 6:00pm daily. On-site guests may reach a staff member until 9:00pm daily.

Quiet Hours
Quiet hours begin at 10pm throughout our property.

We will be happy to suggest wineries and other places of interest to visit during your stay with us. Please inquire once you've made your reservation.
We regret we cannot accomodate pets on our property. Animals whose function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals according to the ADA and are not permitted at the Black Walnut. Please contact Tail Wag Inn, located in Dundee, at (503) 554-9000 where your pet will be well-cared for.

Service animals are allowed to accompany people with disabilities at our Inn. Upon arrival, you may be asked: Is the animal required because of a disability; and/or what work or task has the animal been trained to perform. Service animals must be under control and housebroken. Please inform us at least seven days in advance if you plan to travel with a service animal.
In observance of local ordinances, we have a no smoking policy throughout our entire premises, inclusive of tobacco, marijuana and vaping. Any violation of this policy will result in a minimum $300 fee. Smokers who render a room unacceptable for incoming guests must compensate the Inn for lost revenue.
We receive hundreds of requests each year for donations to worthy causes with valid needs. We do our best to support requests that are aligned with the mission and vision of our property and owners. Please submit your request to Requests are not guaranteed.
